Student organizations on campus aim to accommodate interests and talents in various fields, ranging from sports, arts, reasoning, and so on. What is an Intra-Campus Organization

If we discuss the types of campus organizations, of course you will find intra-campus organizations. As the name implies, intra-campus organizations are student organizations that are attached to the campus or university.

This organization has an official position on campus. Usually, intra-campus organizations are first introduced to new students during the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB).

You will find many intra-campus organizations that are divided into department, faculty, and university levels. Here are some forms of intra-campus organizations that you will find:

1. Department Student Association
The first organization that you will find in the world of college is the Department Student Association (HMJ). This organization is at the department/study program level which can be categorized as an extracurricular activity.

In addition, HMJ also serves as an advocacy institution for students who experience academic and student problems. This is because HMJ is the closest organization to students.

In HMJ you will participate in many work programs, both on campus and off campus with the aim of developing your potential, mindset, and personality as a student.

2. Student Executive Board (BEM)

Both at the faculty and university levels, BEM serves as a student representative and accommodates all student interests, both related to the faculty and at the university level.

Members of the faculty BEM are usually representatives from each department in the faculty. Meanwhile, members of the university BEM are representatives from each faculty.

The Student Senate is an institution in the student organization structure that plays an important role as a legislative institution and the highest representative of students at the university level.

This organization has several goals, including improving student learning discipline, launching the Tri Dharma program of higher education (Education, Research, and Community Service), and fostering student behavior to comply with applicable norms.

Although both are at the university level, the student senate has a different role from BEM. BEM acts as an executive or implementer, while the student senate acts as a legislative institution that has supervisory, budgetary, and legislative functions.

4. Student Activity Unit

The next intra-campus organization is the Student Activity Unit (UKM). UKM is an organization that is a campus organization that accommodates you to develop every interest, hobby, activity, and creativity that you have. This organization is almost the same as extracurricular activities at school.

There are various UKMs that integration of web content: website, e-commerce, application, cms, etc. you can  choose from, ranging from sports, music, dance, theater, choir, reasoning, film, photography, press, radio, debate, and many more. You can even choose more than one UKM. These UKMs are at the university level and faculty level.

What is an Extra-Campus Organization?
Not only on campus, you can also join tw lists organizations and activities outside campus. Extra-campus organizations are the next type of campus organization which is a student organization that is not part of the non-structural facilities of the university.

Although outside the campus, but usually members of this extra-campus organization have activities and work together with intra-campus organizations.
